Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek is a herb that is found naturally in Mediterranean regions of the world. Though the leaves and seeds are often implemented as a culinary spice, many in Egypt, Greece, Italy and South Asia also use this spice for its many health benefits.

Vitamin C, potassium, niacin, protein and diosgenin (similar in properties to estrogen) can be found in Fenugreek, as well as alkaloids, lysine, L-tryptophan and steroidal saponins such as yamogenin, neotigogenin and tigogenin.

Fenugreek is often used as a home remedy for balancing cholesterol, treating diabetes while lowering blood sugar levels, as a herbal cure for skin inflammation (including, but not limited to abscesses, burns, eczema, boils and gout), as a natural cure for heartburn and acid reflux as well as a possible resource for reducing fever. Furthermore, Fenugreek is often used as a natural alternative for breast enlargement, to ease childbirth associated pain, as well as a remedy to assist in milk production in lactating women.
